Houston Texas is a new music project by improvisers Juan Castañeda and Alejandro Quiñones. The duo is interested in computer music making and the development of digital interfaces. For these recordings, the artists have delved into processed field recordings, granular synthesis and expanded electrc guitar techniques. They have many ideas coming up all the time, so who knows what they're gonna do next.

The name HT started as a joke, as we are both programmers and computer musicians, we thought it'll be nice to call our project that way. Funny enough, we are still discovering it's meaning, my friend Juan has a T-shirt from Houston Texas University.
This T-shirt travelled from there to Colombia, since it was a present from a friend to Juan's dad. Juan has had it since years now, we think that this object works as an amulet from a distant past, that connects people, places and ideas. We dream about many possible distant pasts. Some of they might not have existed, but they work as a way to trigger our imagination of the future.
We think that no name (or action) is completely random. We want to find the reason behind the randomness and the randomness behind the reason.
